The Search continues…

Just a note to say our search for a venue is ongoing, we have a few options open to us at the moment, but all need further investigations to establish availability and suitability.

As ever, if anyone has any additional suggestions throw them at: macmiga@lincsamiga.org.uk

LAG 10 postponed for a while

we are currently in the process of finding a new venue for LAG meetings, so as such this month's proposed LAG 10 meeting has been postponed temporarily. I'll post the date for the meeting as soon as I know what it is. Our current plan is to have it in a months time, but don't quote me on that ;)

LAG 9 will take place at the usual venue, Lincs Chamber of Commerce, Outer Circle Road, Lincoln, on February 2nd 2008. As usual visitors are welcome as long as you contact us in advance to let us know if you want to drop by.

Our continued thanks go to Gaz and Jackie for organizing our venue, we really appreciate being able to use such a first class facility for our meetings!

LAG 7 Date Confirmed

LAG 7 will take place at the usual venue, Lincs Chamber of Commerce, Outer Circle Road, Lincoln, on September 15th (Sorry! I got that a bit wrong!!) 2007. Due to key member commitments we are unable to hold it in October as planned, so we're having it early.

The next meeting after this one ( LAG 8 ) will likely be at the usual time of early December.

LAG 6 Reminder

Just a reminder to everyone that the next LAG meeting is THIS SATURDAY (11th August) at our usual venue, Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, Outer Circle Road, Lincoln.

On display this meeting will be the usual array of Classic and AmigaONE hardware, along with MacMiga and gaz_god's EFIKA projects (which will hopefully both be completed and running by then!).
We will also, circumstances permitting, be doing a rebuild of a Eyetech EZTower-Z4 Amiga 1200, which is undergoing a mainboard swap.

As usual, all are welcome to join us.

LAG completes it’s first EFIKA project

LAG Members, MacMiga and gaz-god have just completed work on the first of 2 EFIKA-based projects. The project is a small form-factor case for the miniature PowerPC-based board including a 4-port powered USB hub.

Full details are available HERE

The project has also been covered on the blog of Bill Buck & Raquel Velasco

LAG 6 date confirmed

Sorry for the late announcement, but we've had to do a bit of re-planning. LAG 6 will take place at the usual venue, Lincs Chamber of Commerce, Outer Circle Road, Lincoln, on August 11th 2007. Please nothe this is the *second* Saturday in August, not the first, as MacMiga is away over the first weekend.

EFIKA at LAG 5

MacMiga will be bringing along his new EFIKA board to LAG 5 and will (if i can get Linux to install) hopefully give a demo of the EFIKA in action. He will also be fielding questions etc. about the board and it's features.

UPDATE: I can confirm this will be a goer as I have just got it up and running with Debian Linux. Thanks to the guys at Genesi and bplan for their speedy work fixing the Debian install Kernel for EFIKA!

LAG 4 Report – finally!

Yes, I have got around to it at last. What with dying of various ailments (colds, hayfever etc...), work (and its associated effects) and then shooting off to London for 5 days, I haven't had a chance to make up any decent excuses for not writing the reports!

Still, here we are. LAG 4 went really well, probably our best meeting yet computing-wise. We managed to get 4 Amigas online via the events wireless thanks to Gaz and Mark's efforts in wrangling with the network and Miami respectively.

We were able to take a quick look at the second beta of the Sputnik web browser for MorphOS (coming soon to OS 4?). It's definitely work in progress but it's getting there!

There were plenty of Amigas of all types, displaying the usual wide array of games, applications and utilities, including 3D rendering, Web Browsers and classic games of Amiga time, like Speedball 2 and Seek & Destroy.

We had a great day, and can't wait to do it all again at the next meeting... speaking of which the next meeting (LAG 5) is pencilled in for June 2nd 2007. Once again we are at the Chamber of Commerce, Outer Cirlce Road, Lincoln. All comers welcome.
