LAG 10 postponed for a while

we are currently in the process of finding a new venue for LAG meetings, so as such this month's proposed LAG 10 meeting has been postponed temporarily. I'll post the date for the meeting as soon as I know what it is. Our current plan is to have it in a months time, but don't quote me on that ;)

Lima Alpha Golf – Niner we are clear to launch…

LAG 9 will take place at the usual venue, Lincs Chamber of Commerce, Outer Circle Road, Lincoln, on February 2nd 2008. As usual visitors are welcome as long as you contact us in advance to let us know if you want to drop by.

Our continued thanks go to Gaz and Jackie for organizing our venue, we really appreciate being able to use such a first class facility for our meetings!

LAG 8 Show report and photos

Wow - I must have had too much coffee right? No not really I just have a much easier way of posting to blogs (the wonders of using Mac OS X, see :) ).

LAG 8 went really well, we had a record turnout! We had 9 people at Saturday's meeting which I believe is an all-time best. We had a lot of varied hardware on display with all the usual suspects, along with newer members Rick and Pete, our Cryptmag regular Barry 'Wisecracker' Walker, the every-zany Terl, and Amiga die-hard Steve.

The only frustrations of the day came from Robert17's Amiga 4000 Desktop suffering a bent pin on a SCSI cable, and both MacMiga's and Gaz_God's EFIKA proving Linux really is a very obtuse OS when it doesn't want to work!!

Photos are online too on our newly upgraded Flickr Pro account:

LAG 8 will happen…

We are planning on holding a 8th LAG meeting at the beginning of December. I can't currently completely confirm the date but all being well (yes, a long-shot I know) we should be holding it on the 1st December (Saturday) at the usual venue. Not confirmed yet, but that's when it was planned for at the last meeting (which seems like half a year ago).

[Amiga.org] Amiga Inc – An open letter to the Amiga community

via Amiga.org

I think it's important that everyone involved with and a part of the Amiga community reads this, as it illustrates just what kind of state the future of Amiga is in. In short a large pinch of salt is required with everything, and the attached comments make clear exactly what the community as a whole (including myself) think.

LAG 7 Date Confirmed

LAG 7 will take place at the usual venue, Lincs Chamber of Commerce, Outer Circle Road, Lincoln, on September 15th (Sorry! I got that a bit wrong!!) 2007. Due to key member commitments we are unable to hold it in October as planned, so we're having it early.

The next meeting after this one ( LAG 8 ) will likely be at the usual time of early December.

LAG 6 Reminder

Just a reminder to everyone that the next LAG meeting is THIS SATURDAY (11th August) at our usual venue, Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, Outer Circle Road, Lincoln.

On display this meeting will be the usual array of Classic and AmigaONE hardware, along with MacMiga and gaz_god's EFIKA projects (which will hopefully both be completed and running by then!).
We will also, circumstances permitting, be doing a rebuild of a Eyetech EZTower-Z4 Amiga 1200, which is undergoing a mainboard swap.

As usual, all are welcome to join us.

LAG completes it’s first EFIKA project

LAG Members, MacMiga and gaz-god have just completed work on the first of 2 EFIKA-based projects. The project is a small form-factor case for the miniature PowerPC-based board including a 4-port powered USB hub.

Full details are available HERE

The project has also been covered on the blog of Bill Buck & Raquel Velasco
